THE GAME OF LIFE (A Short Story)

Ifeyinwa thought hard on her next move,trying to chose her best.She tried,but she still failed.Her lives were finished.She had to wait for thirty minutes for the next life.As she settle down from the euphoria of the game,she felt a presence behind her.She turned to see her manager staring at her with anger written over him.

"Since the day you reported here for your industrial training you find it impossible to do anything in the office and yet you find time to play games?"
Ifeyinwa was tongue tied.
"You have five days to produce an article on the game I saw you playing.It either that or you will be suspended for a month or better stilled asked to go!"
"Sir,I was just.."
"I am done with that.If I were you,I'd get started".
The manager walked away.Ifeyinwa scratched her head.

The next two days had Ifeyinwa withdrew and thinking deeply.By the third day,she decide what to do.She went back to the game,playing it with deeper insight.
By the end of the fourth day,she had a list.She learnt things that she related to life wanting to be more interesting,she wrote it in form of an article:
THE GAME OF LIFE:
The candy(and soda) crush is one of the most popular games played,with invites coming even through the social media.
Some people,many people,play it for fun,but there are some life lessons to be learnt from it.Surprised? Well let's play!
PATIENCE:
The most annoying part of playing the candy crush is waiting for the next life.But I realized that in waiting for the next life,one can strategize ways to play the game better.Patience can also be a resting point for the next attempt at overcoming a challenge.
PLAN:
Though it is a game.Candy crush is played with tactical moves.
The life application is that life's steps should be planned,and not just lived out without conscious effort to make it achieve the purpose which it was meant for.
FOCUS ON THE INSTRUCTION:
Each level of candy crush comes with an instruction,we see only the present gratification and sometimes we don't ask ourselves if it will get us closer to achieving goal.
The life application is that life has many distractions.We all have a purpose  and  any thing that is not in line with our purpose,should not be a focal point.
TAKE ADVICE WITH YOUR OWN DISCRETION:
Those who played the game know that moves suggestions are usually given.But sometimes the suggestions given are not the best.Also there are times when the suggestions may be the only move available.
The life application is that when you are given an advice,you should also weigh it.
And sometimes,a single move is what is needed to open doors of opportunity for you.
TURN ON THE MUSIC:
If you play the game with the sound and music on,you get a more interesting feel of the game from when you don't.Though it runs the battery,it makes it sweeter.
But there are also times when the music,maybe a distraction,and you may have to turn it off to focus.Please do.
The life application to me refers to those things we tend to see as not  really necessary.Try to inculcate it in your life.Try again.The  candy crush is a  game of trying again.
If we don't try again,we give up and uninstall the game.
But when you keep trying,you finally get a break. The life lesson is that we should always get up,dust ourselves and try again.Just don't give up.
Some people say life is a game.I am not so sure about that,but I know that it needs to be lived,effectively,so wanna play?

Her boss was impressed and asked that the piece be published in the next issue of the magazine,making Ifeyinwa very happy,but she learnt her lesson of  doing the right things at the right time.
